The first artist ever to win two BBC Jazz Awards in the same year, for ‘Best Vocalist’ and ‘Best of Jazz”, Liane is a dynamic vocalist and pianist whose amazing talent has been captivating audiences for years. She is recognised as one of the finest singer/pianists on the scene, working with the likes of Gerry Rafferty, Ladysmith Black Mombazo and Paul McCartney. Her powerful, blues tinged, voice combined with strong piano playing and exciting infectious material, not to mention a wicked sense of humour, make this a really fun gig. Sunday 14th May WAYNE HERNANDEZ![]() |
Wayne is one of those fantastic singers who has been using his considerable talents for many years to make others sound good. Hugely successful within the music “business” he has worked with the likes of Tina Turner, Gorillaz, Tori Amos, Blur, Grover Washington, Roberta Flack and Madonna. He has also toured extensively with Kool and the Gang and Regina Bell. With an Afro Cuban heritage which includes work to this day with the London Community Gospel Choir, along with living in New York for a number of years Wayne describes his music as “…a living fusion of music styles from the Black music scene”. This multi-talented artist, he is also a well established songwriter and producer, produces a brilliant set of powerful groove music that defines the word “Soul”. A rare talent and absolutely not to be missed. |
| Sunday 21st May MARINA LASLO awaiting picture |
Russian born award winning singer and multi-instrumentalist Marina Laslo has been making something of a splash on the UK Classical “crossover” scene of late. With three albums to her name and the most played version of “Ave Maria” on Classical FM TV she is rapidly establishing herself as the name to watch. Classically trained, originally at the College of Music and Conservatoire in St Petersburg and more recently here at the Royal Academy of Music, Marina has developed her unique style with a repertoire ranging from classical through “modern” music to Jazz and cabaret. Tonight she will be focusing on the “jazzier” side of her repertoire, performing classic Jazz standards and some jazz arrangements of Russian “romances”. With work at the Covent Garden Opera House and Barbican on her impressive cv Marina is one of the few classically trained singers around who can actually sing Jazz and contemporary material with an authentic feel and delivery. A really talented and interesting performer with a terrific voice, well worth catching. “pure ethereal voice… beautifully done and very well sung” Musical Opinion |

Sunday 28th May |
One of the most exciting singers to emerge on to the Jazz/Soul circuit for some years, combining the sophistication of modern Soul music with the power of his African roots. A charismatic vocalist, Ola has put together a set of classic Soul and R&B songs that are impressive and great fun. His CV as a supporting artist reads like a who’s who of contemporary music, including Diane Reeves, Natalie Cole and Tower of Power as well as various T.V and Film projects. He has released 4 albums and appeared on numerous festivals, all under his own name, was the featured vocalist with Courtney Pine and the BBC “Music Live” Jubilee Concert, and on top of all that he is also well established these days as a composer. A consummate artist, this gig is a must for anyone interested in contemporary Soul “…one of the UK's most powerful voices” Blues and Soul |
