A Message About Covid 19
13 March 2020
The wellbeing of our customers and staff is always our primary concern so now, following the Covid 19 outbreak, we have implemented additional steps to ensure that the Club is as safe an environment as possible. Additional measures include disinfecting all tables and handrails on a daily basis as well as cleaning surfaces with anti-bacterial wipes during service, wiping down our credit card machines with anti-bacterial/viral wipes after each use, the installation of a number of hand sanitiser gel dispensers in the Club for the use of staff and anti-bacterial soap available in our toilets. In addition, we have also installed a hand sanitiser dispenser at our front gate for the express use of customers before entering the venue.
Going forward, we will also be restricting numbers to no more than 85 people in order to allow adequate distances between tables (our legal capacity is 120).
Of course, if you as a customer do not feel well, we do encourage you to stay home, and we will look forward to seeing you when you feel better.
Take care everyone... we will get through this.
UPDATED MESSAGE REGARDING CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS FROM THE CLUB'S OWNER STEVE RUBIE (UPDATED 15 MARCH 2020)
Hi.
I thought that under the present circumstances it would be helpful for me to drop everyone a line just to let you know how we are responding at the 606 Club to the current situation regarding Covid-19.
The main thrust of everything we are doing is to ensure that the Club environment is as safe as it possibly can be for our highly valued customers, staff and featured musicians. So, following the directions currently being provided by Public Health England’s guidelines we have adopted the following procedures and measures, which are of course in addition to our well established cleaning and Health & Safety routines:
:: Thoroughly disinfecting all tables, chairs, hard surfaces and handrails on a daily basis
:: Cleaning surfaces, including door handles and hand rails, with anti-bacterial/viral wipes at regular intervals during service
:: Wiping down our credit card machines with anti-bacterial/viral wipes after each use
:: We have now installed a number of hand sanitiser gel dispensers in the Club for the use of staff in the kitchen for all kitchen staff and at the service point and bar area for all floor staff and managers. We are also encouraging all our staff to thoroughly hand wash at regular intervals (the kitchen staff will, of course, do this as a matter of routine anyway…)
:: Provided anti-bacterial soap in both our toilets.
:: We have installed a hand sanitiser dispenser at our front gate for the express use of customers before entering the venue. Should you be visiting us in the near future we would strongly encourage you to use this facility before entering
:: We also have anti-bacterial/viral wipes available for all customers on request
:: We have now restricted the number of people who can book to 85 in the main room (capacity 115-120) and 6 in the bar area (capacity 10) in order to maintain an appropriate distance between seated parties
:: Provided structured support for any staff who are feeling unwell and need to take time off, in order to ensure they feel able to report any signs of sickness without fear of financial hardship
As of today PHE are reporting an estimated 10,000-15,000 cases in a population in excess of 64 million, so the risk is still currently considered to be low to moderate, hence our continuing, along with most restaurants and major venues, to remain open. However, we are well aware that this is likely to change over time and are monitoring the situation on a daily basis. We will continue to respond rapidly to any changes in the guidelines, including closing our doors if needs be, as the wellbeing of customers, staff and musicians is our primary concern.
Finally, if you as a customer do not feel well, we do encourage you to stay home and we wish you all the very best and look forward to seeing you when you feel better.
I hope this puts your mind at rest should you be considering a visit to us in the near future. If you have any questions or queries regarding this (or any other) issue then please do feel free to call us on 020 7352 5953 where one of our staff will be happy to talk with you.
Thanks and stay well, Steve
