Two of the UK's finest musicians, saxophonist Derek Nash, singer Noel McCalla and their band come together to celebrate the music of one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, Stevie Wonder. An award-winning player, Derek Nash is perhaps best known as one of the featured saxophonists with the Jools Holland Band and leader of the enormously successful “Sax Appeal”. Noel McCalla first came to prominence in the mid 80’s with the seminal Jazz/funk band Morrissey/Mullen, subsequently joining the iconic Manfred Mann’s ‘Earth Band’ with whom he toured and performed for almost 20 years. Adrian Cox is of the leading exponents of the New Orleans clarinet. His unrivalled feel and virtuosity have led to work with the biggest names in jazz, including concerts with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. A former member of Kansas Smitty’s (“London’s new swing princes”, Evening Standard), Adrian’s wealth of knowledge of the music and players from this celebrated era will take you on a trip from New Orleans to New York, from the small groups to the legendary vocalists such as Irma Thomas and Ella Fitzgerald. The band this evening features the award-winning singer Louise Balkwill, along with fellow Smitty’s alum Joe Webb on piano and the wonderful Denny Ilett (known for his work with New Orleans legend Lillian Boutté) on guitar. General Information
WEATHER: The show goes on rain or shine.
FOOD AND DRINK: The Club will be hosting a full bar serving beer, wine, champagne & spirits. We'll also have food available from Pass Time, a fast food pop up from Robert Chappell & Sebastian Cooke with a permanent residency at The Colonel Fawcett, Camden. They specialise in fresh, British seasonal ingredients and will be serving a mouth-watering burger menu to unite burger lovers across the vegan - carnivore divide! instagram.com/passtime.ldn/
However guests are absolutely welcome to bring their own picnics to enjoy, as well as beverages including alcohol.
SEATING: This event takes place on the main lawn of Fulham Palace. Chairs and tables are not provided with your ticket though are available to rent in advance for a small fee (we cannot guarantee availability of tables on the night itself unless they are pre-booked). You may also bring your own blanket or low-backed chair if you wish, but Fulham Palace stipulates that they "not damage the Lawn as it is an area of archaeological significance. Therefore, furniture must not dig into the ground, as this could risk damaging the historic site."
(UPDATE 31 MARCH: Tables for Friday 2nd are currently sold out. We are looking to see if it is possible to accommodate additional tables and will update this page as soon as we have more information.)
DISABLED ACCESS: Fulham Palace is quite easy to access; the grounds are level and there is a mix of grass with paved and unpaved paths. For more information, visit the Fulham Palace site.
ANIMALS: With the exception of guide dogs, animals are not permitted at Fulham Palace.
PARKING & TRANSPORT: There are many convenient ways to get to Fulham Palace, and street parking on Bishop's Avenue is generally available during the event (unless it's a Fulham FC match day). For detailed instructions, please visit the Fulham Palace Map, Transport & Parking page.
ON SITE SECURITY: For the safety and security of all present, we will be checking the bags of anyone attending the event prior to entry. After passing through security, customers will be provided with a colour-coded wristband to allow them to leave and re-enter the Palace grounds if they wish. *Children are very welcome to attend however must be supervised throughout by an adult, and consideration must be given not to disturb other audience members enjoying the performance.

In the event of another Covid-related lockdown forcing us to cancel the event, we will issue refunds for all purchases made up to and until the cancellation date less 20% for fixed costs (costs to suppliers for which we are liable regardless of cancellation). We may also be required to implement specific Covid-related health and safety policies as directed by the Council or other government authority, but are unknown to us at this time.
