Adam Glasser/Mike del Ferro Quartet: Toots Thielemans 100
THIS EVENT WILL ALSO BE LIVE-STREAMED - SIGN UP AND BUY TICKETS HERE.
Widely regarded as one of Europe’s leading jazz chromatic harmonica players, Adam Glasser’s playing is eloquent, subtle & constantly inventive. Internationally recognised for the ‘Township’-influenced music of his native South Africa (where Adam’s recordings have won numerous awards), Adam’s CV includes work with Sting, Joe Zawinul, and Hugh Masekela. For this 606 show, Adam is joined by world-class Dutch pianist, composer & arranger Mike del Ferro to perform a special programme honouring the extraordinary Belgian harmonica player Toots Thielemans on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Mike worked with Toots for over a decade, appearing at over 150 concerts together and this evening will be a fond remembrance of Toots the man, as well as his music. The night will also include a selection of Adam’s township jazz compositions and material from Mike's highly acclaimed album with the Metropole Orchestra 'Opera Meets Jazz'.
