Alec Harper
Alec Harper has established himself as one of the leading tenor saxophonists of his generation. When he’s not busy performing with the highly popular outfit “Kansas Smitty’s”, you can find him fronting his own group as well as a sideman for other artists such as Tom Misch. He has performed with the likes of the WDR Big Band (Cologne) and at venues around the world, including North Sea Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott’s & Dizzy’s (NYC). Tonight, with guitarist Gareth Fowler, bassist Lorenzo Morabito and drummer Gwilym Jones, the group will focus on repertoire from the hard bop and post-bop eras performing classics from Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson and more as well as their own swinging originals.
