Ant Law's 'Unified Theories' ft. Gwilym Simcock & Will Vinson
THIS EVENT WILL ALSO BE LIVE-STREAMED - SIGN UP AND BUY TICKETS HERE.
Since launching his professional career in 2010 British guitarist Ant Law has shown himself to possess not just a virtuosic capability on the instrument, but also an inquisitive, multi-faceted musical sensibility that has brought him international attention. Described as a ‘gamechanger’ by the Guardian, Ant’s own critically acclaimed albums, showcasing his distinctive approach to guitar (embracing alternative tunings), along with his many collaborations with other high-profile jazz artists (such as Grammy-winning saxophonist/arranger Tim Garland’s band with Jason Rebello and his most recent co-led album release with saxophonist Alex Hitchcock), have raised Ant’s profile still further.
It’s in that spirit that Ant debuts his latest contemporary jazz project, ‘Unified Theories’ here at the Club for their first ever performance. With UK alto saxophonist now based in New York Will Vinson (Kurt Rosenwinkel, Gonzalo Rubalcaba), bassist Orlando le Fleming (Tim Garland, Branford Marsalis), drummer Ernesto Simpson (Richard Bona) and one of the UK’s greatest pianists, the Mercury Prize-winning Gwilym Simcock (Pat Metheny), the combined talents of this quintet are nothing short of astonishing. Performing new music written by Ant, this show promises to be a genuinely exciting event!
