Ed Jones
“The vigorous, sometimes downright volcanic tenor sound of Ed Jones has long been one of the great live delights of British Jazz”

Over the last 20 years or so award-winning saxophonist Ed Jones has established himself as one of the most innovative and sought after sax players on the scene. His muscular and highly accomplished bop influenced tenor playing has been featured in a wide variety of contexts, most notably with the Jazz crossover groups “Us3” and “Incognito”. But his jazz credentials are just as solid, with work alongside artists such as George Benson, Dianne Reeves, Horace Silver and Claire Martin. Originally inspired by the music of Wayne Shorter these days the quartet performs a mixture of jazz standards and Ed’s fine originals and is widely considered to be one of the finest groups of its kind in the UK. Ed this evening will be performing material from his most recent album “For Your Ears Only”, his first solo album since 2003’s “Seven Moments”.
