Emily Francis Trio
Since their founding in 2014, the Emily Francis Trio has sparked keen interest amongst those in the know. With a fascinating mix of influences including 60s & 70s-era electronic jazz, psychedelia and even prog rock, the band - Emily Francis-piano/keys, Trevor Boxall-bass & Jamie Murray-drums - has created an accessible, yet harmonically rich landscape of melody and groove. For this special London Jazz Festival show, the band will present brand new compositions ahead of their upcoming 2024 releases, to include an EP of their most ambitious compositions to date and various exciting collaborations (which are being kept secret for now, so you’ll be among the first to know). They will also reflect on earlier ventures as they prepare for their 10th Anniversary, which is being celebrated with a remastered limited edition vinyl release of their first album "The Absent" and an accompanying tour. Fresh from touring with King Crimson founder Robert Fripp and singer Toyah Willcox, Emily and the band will be channelling that energy to deliver a hard-hitting show from start to finish.
