Frances Madden
“A consummate musician, gifted composer and arranger, with a sweet voice and relaxed, engaging presence that exudes the joy of singing”
Australian Arts Review
A highly regarded singer, songwriter and pianist, Frances Madden has played to full houses at leading jazz venues & festivals and supported artists including Dionne Warwick & Grammy-Award winner Gregory Porter in her native Australia. Following on from the release of her album "Beautiful World" in Australia on ABC Music, this show heralds the UK/Europe launch, songs from which she’ll be performing along with new originals and unique takes on select classics. With an undeniable charm and retro vibe in the tradition of vocal jazz legends such as Ella, Doris Day and Diana Krall, Frances’ songs have earned multiple nominations in the Australian Songwriting Association Awards and the International Songwriting Competition USA. She also performed her original song, ‘She Will Rise’ at the Women’s Singles Final at the Australian Open. Now working on a new album with highly regarded, Grammy-winning producer & engineer Cameron Craig (Adele), Frances has assembled an A-list group of musicians to accompany her a this 606 show: Quentin Collins-trumpet, Rob Updegraff-guitar, Tom Mason-double bass, Mez Clough-drums and Nina Rose-backing vocals. A star in-the-making, we are delighted to welcome Frances back to the Club!
