Georgia Mancio ft. Gareth Lockrane
““Supremely elegant …one of the hottest singers on the circuit.””
Evening Standard
Update: in recognition of tonight's Euro 2024 Final match, the music will start at 19:45 and there will be one long set ending at 21:00. Then we'll watch the second half of the football in the Club... the best of both worlds one might say.
Georgia Mancio is an award-winning vocalist, lyricist and producer with a beautiful vocal tone and direct style that lends itself perfectly to her swinging and sophisticated set. With 8 albums to her name, she is the 2020 Parliamentary Jazz Awards 'Best Album' winner for “Finding Home” with pianist/composer Kate Williams, and is the current recipient of the Parliamentary Jazz 2021 “Best Vocalist” Award. Meanwhile, her musical partnership with iconic US-based Grammy-award-winning pianist Alan Broadbent has produced two outstanding recordings and led to tours across the UK, Europe and the US. She has also worked with many other artists of global stature, including the likes of Bobby McFerrin, Sheila Jordan, Ian Shaw, Liane Carroll, Jason Rebello, Gwilym Simcock and the late, great, Bobby Wellins. For this 606 show, Georgia is bringing her wonderful quintet of frequent collaborators, Gareth Lockrane-flutes, Robin Aspland-piano, Andrew Cleyndert-bass and Dave Ohm-drums. A true improviser with a boundless imagination, Georgia produces music of beauty and bite.
