Hayley Sanderson
““Sanderson is blessed with a pure, clear voice””
The JazzMann
Hayley is a terrific singer who performs an impressive mix of Jazz, R&B and originals with a deft ease. A highly experienced performer, she includes work with the likes of Gloria Gaynor and the New Inspirational Gospel Choir, with whom she sang the lead vocal on ‘Down to the River’ that appeared on their album with Mica Paris and Jocelyn Brown. She has an impressive amount of “bv” and studio work (including Talk Talk’s “Something In the Air”) along with numerous tours with the likes of Rick Wakeman as well as a highly rated solo album Just Songs and appearances with her own band the Stylophones (who at one time had a residency here at the Club). However, it's her work over the last 7 years as one of the featured singers on TV’s “Strictly Come Dancing” that has really put Hayley on the map, which combined with regular appearances at Ronnie Scott’s Club has earmarked this talented vocalist as one of the finest singers of her generation. Hayley describes the music she will be performing tonight as "Funk versions of Rock and Soul classics. Heavy grooves and great soloists - songs from Sam Cooke to the Beatles, Betty Harris to The Doors plus some of my Groove originals too - something for everyone". Supported by a brilliant band which includes Lewis Hall on bass and Geoff Holroyde on drums this promises to be a very special gig from one of our favourite people! Highly recommended.
