Tonight the 606 Club features one of the finest Soul/Groove singers in the UK, Incognito's Imaani plus her Special Guest, Chris Ballin. A terrific singer in the Soul/R&B tradition Imaani first came to prominence in 1998 as runner up in the Eurovision Song contest, producing the highly successful single “Where Are You” that charted around the world. Her worldwide tours, television, live and studio output since includes work with the likes of Gloria Gaynor, Carleen Anderson, Michael Bolton, Lulu and Beverley Knight, but she is probably best known as one of the featured singers with the iconic band “Incognito”, of which she’s been a member for over 10 years. A powerful and charismatic vocalist this is a wonderful opportunity to hear this enormously experienced and highly regarded singer perform in an intimate setting.
And if that wasn't enough, Imaani has invited the fantastic soul/R&B artist Chris Ballin to join her for this special show. Featured on two of Incognito's albums, 'Beneath the Surface' (which includes the audience favourite, 'Labour of Love') & 'Inner Shade', he's also been heard with Maxi Priest, Caron Wheeler (Soul II Soul), Candy Dulfer, Luther Vandross, Tina Turner and so many more. With his smooth, rich tone and vast experience, Chris is simply a brilliant choice!
