Interphase Quartet
Founded in London by pianist Tomasz Zyrmont & saxophonist Sean Khan, Interphase is a brand new, groove/hard bop/contemporary jazz quartet. Their setlist comprises unusual standards by masters Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Joe Henderson delivered with a modern twist, along with their own original compositions. Also featuring Henry Gilbert, bass & Filippo Galli, drums among them the members have played and recorded with artists including Hermeto Pascoal, Omar, Groove Razors, Jim Mullen, Tony Kofi & Marcos Valle (to name just a handful), while their globe-trotting exploits have seen them playing at venues in countries from Cuba to Brasil, Japan to the US. Now in the studio, we are looking forward to seeing this exciting lineup at the Club! “[Sean Khan] ...with a sound that is at once sounds familiar yet is all his own-he’s crafted some great tunes that have wrapped around me like a glove. A jazz powerhouse” Audiophile Review; “One thing you can count on with alto and soprano saxophonist Sean Khan is that he will never approach a project from a predictable angle”. All About Jazz
