Interphase Quartet
Founded in London by pianist Tomasz Zyrmont & saxophonist Sean Khan, Interphase is a groove/hard bop/contemporary jazz quartet. Their setlist comprises unusual standards by masters Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Joe Henderson delivered with a modern twist, along with their own original compositions. Also featuring Marcus Penrose-bass & Filippo Galli-drums, among them the members have played and recorded with artists including Hermeto Pascoal, Omar, Groove Razors, Jim Mullen, Tony Kofi & Marcos Valle (to name just a handful), while their globe-trotting exploits have seen them playing at venues in countries from Cuba to Brasil, Japan to the US. “[Sean Khan] ...with a sound that is at once sounds familiar yet is all his own-he’s crafted some great tunes that have wrapped around me like a glove. A jazz powerhouse” Audiophile Review; “One thing you can count on with alto and soprano saxophonist Sean Khan is that he will never approach a project from a predictable angle”. All About Jazz
