Jackson Mathod
Jackson Mathod is a trumpet player and singer who has been quietly growing his sound over the last ten years since graduating from the Guildhall jazz course. With influences ranging from Miles Davis to Dub and Hip Hop he includes work with artists as diverse as UK jazz great Julian Joseph to performing with Stormzy at Glastonbury. He describes his music as “fun and cheeky”, epitomised in his 2021 album ‘Travels in a Confined Space’ which was featured by the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC introducing, Worldwide FM and Jazz FM. Tonight Jackson will be bringing in his band (James Beckwith-kybds; Gabriele Pribetti-sax; Eoin Walsh-bass and Harry Pope-drums) to perform amongst many other groove laden originals, his latest single “Brazil Nut” which will appear on his forthcoming EP, due out later this year.
