Unfortunately Emily Francis is no longer able to perform this Wednesday. Drummer Jamie Murray, who plays with Emily in her Trio will be appearing instead. We hope to have Emily back at the Club soon.
One of the great upcoming drummers on the scene today, Jamie Murray has worked prolifically in styles from jazz/crossover to fusion and pop. He has a number of projects on the go, including his own highly regarded 'Beat Replacement' ("putting the fun back into fusion", Jazzwise) and has appeared lately at the Club with The Brandon Allen Groove Band and the Emily Francis Trio. Jamie's first album, 'Disrespectful' with bass legend Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Donny McCaslin, Vinnie Colaiuta) and Russian sax master Zhenya Strigalev (Eric Harland, Ambrose Akinmusire, Aaron Parks) has created further excitement with his forward-thinking approach. This evening he's asked three equally formidable players to join him on the stand-Paul Booth (Steve Winwood, Jacqui Dankworth)-sax, Laurence Cottle (Gwilym Simcock, Seal)-bass and David Preston (Preston-Glasgow-Lowe, Melody Gardot)-guitar.
