Joanna Eden
“melody, mystery and bite”
MOJO Magazine
With a breakout album on Universal Records in the early 2000’s Joanna Eden has written over 60 original songs, was a featured judge on BBC One’s singing programme ‘All Together Now’ and is a sought-after vocal coach. Her appearance in this year’s Proms performing a duet at the Royal Albert Hall with one of her former students, Sam Smith (yes, that Sam Smith) has further established her on the UK music scene as an artist of impressive talent and creativity. Her live shows combine the energy and rhythmic virtuosity of Latin music with the intimacy and honesty of her acclaimed jazz-influenced originals. Tonight she will be showcasing music from her upcoming seventh studio album, “The Road to Paysandu” written in collaboration with her Uruguayan bassist Andres Lafone (Airto Moreira, Snowboy). Also featured tonight are Guille Hill (Mica Paris, Tom Jones)-guitar and Marc Parnell (Matt Bianco)-drums. A really lovely, feel-good, gig.
