John Cervantes ft. Mark Crooks & Nigel Price
John Cervantes is an Award-winning fluent and creative jazz pianist, composer, and arranger with strong roots in the swinging jazz tradition. However, he also incorporates more contemporary jazz as well as classical and world music influences to give his playing a rounded and quite interesting perspective. He has appeared at the biggest jazz festivals in the country, including Cheltenham, Love Supreme, Glasgow, and EFG London and is a regular presence in the UK's leading venues, both as bandleader and accompanist. Tonight, he tells us “…will be a swinging straight-ahead gig interpreting classic jazz and lesser-played standards”. The intimate drummerless lineup he is bringing to the Club this evening features some of the UK’s finest musicians: Mark Crooks-sax, Nigel Price-guitar and Darren McCarthy-bass.
