Josh Kent featuring Steve Fishwick
““wonderfully rich toned tenorist Josh Kemp with a laconic, subtle, highly nuanced and original sound””

Saxophonist Josh came to jazz at an early age, winning a Daily Telegraph Young Jazz Band of the Year award in his teens. After reading Philosophy at Oxford University, Josh returned to jazz with scholarships to Guildhall and Trinity College of Music and since then he has established himself as a saxophonist and composer of note, renowned for his melodic inventiveness. With several great CDs already under his belt, we are looking forward to a selection of material from his latest record “Tone Poetry”. Tonight Josh is bringing in his organ quintet featuring the brilliant trumpet player Steve Fishwick alongside one of the UK’s leading Hammond organ players Ross Stanley, Billy Cobham guitarist Carl Orr and drummer Chris Higginbottom. The band will perform Josh’s lovely original tunes, plus some choice standards.
