Known for playing authentic Latin music with a strong jazz feel The Latin Underground sextet, led by iconic conguero Robin Jones, performed regularly here at the Club for many years. On Robin’s passing some five years ago now, the band dispersed but, under the curation of Robin’s long time drummer Marc Cecil, we are very happy to once again welcome this brilliant ensemble back to the Club. The arrangements and personnel are an exciting mix from Robin’s two main bands, the Sextet and King Salsa and feature Steve Waterman (Sextet) & Gavin Broom (King Salsa)-trumpets; John Crawford (Sextet)-piano; Andy Lafone (King Salsa)-bass; Will Fry (King Salsa)-congas & Marc Cecil-drums. A fabulous jazz/Latin band.
