Lunchtime Special: Josephine Arthur
Josephine Arthur studied musical theatre at Arts Ed but, having been enchanted by the songs of the Great American Songbook, she soon began a real love for Jazz that has led her to performances at the likes of Ronnie Scott's, the Pheasantry, the Royal Albert Hall and the National Theatre. She draws on classic influences such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughan and her programme is a unique take on jazz standards and modern classics as well as a smattering of original songs from her debut album “Break Free”. This afternoon she will be accompanied by her great, swinging, band of Carl Orr (Billy Cobham)-guitar, Steve Thompson-bass and Matt Fisher-drums. Promises to be a fun afternoon.
