Lunchtime Special: Rebecca Poole
“One of the most exciting jazz singers playing today”
The Oxford Times
Rebecca is a captivating singer with a beautiful, smooth, sultry voice who performs a wonderful mix of classic standards and terrific, swinging originals. Her single “What Happened to Romance” was Single of the Week on Jazz FM, and was also picked up by “BBC Introducing”. Her impressive CV includes work at the likes of Wembley Stadium, The Henley Festival, Boisdales and Petersham House, where her guests included Mick Jagger and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Most recently she completed a successful tour supporting the indefatigable Jools Holland (who absolutely loved her work). Her vocal style has been described as “reminiscent of the big band era….a playful smoky-voiced performer who writes bittersweet songs of the heart combining great wit and old fashioned sentiments”. Joining Rebecca this afternoon will be her brilliant trio, featuring guitarist Jamie McCredie. And don’t forget this is our child-friendly gig so families are more than welcome.
