Naomi Eyers and Alison Jiear
The Award-winning vocalist Naomi Eyers is one of Australia’s most respected singers. Her immaculate and powerful vocals have been heard worldwide, not only with her own multi-award winning trio The Fabulous Singlettes, but also with the likes of her highly-regarded jazz vocal group, Women With Standards as well as her own remarkable solo shows. Naomi was resident in London through the 90’s, and in that period performed regularly at the 606 Club, becoming one of the Club’s most popular soul/groove artists. On her return to Oz she also became a lauded educationalist, particularly with her work teaching the Estil Voice Training System. Tonight Naomi will be joined by her very old friend Alison Jiear, a fellow Australian who over the last 30 years or so has made a real name for herself in numerous shows in London’s West End and beyond. The two last appeared together back in 1990(!), so expect some fireworks as they perform “an eclectic set, reworking songs from our past as well as jazz, soul and blues classics”. This promises to be quite a night of high energy reunions! As would be expected, for this occasion they have put together an ace band of players to accompany them: Adam Goldsmith-guitar, Clive Dunstall-piano, Phil Mulford-bass & Jack Pollitt-drums. Oh, and watch out for some “Special Guests” who are promising to come down to join in the fun (spoiler – they’re Australian and they sing…)
