While rooted in jazz, his music includes influences from electronica and hip-hop to Afrobeat, contemporary music and more. His various career highlights include performing across Europe with Matthew Herbert, working with Grammy winners the Metropole Orkest as guest conductor and collaborations with bands/artists such as Phronesis and Femi Tomowo. Phil’s latest album “Beware of the Bear” featuring Michael De Souza-guitar, Joe Downward-bass and Jay Davis-drums is a satisfying synthesis of soaring melodies, atmospheric soundscapes, and head-nodding grooves.
