Ray Gelato & Enric Peidro: Tough Tenors Revisited
Tonight tenor sax masters Ray Gelato and Spanish maestro Enric Peidro present their acclaimed “Tough Tenors” show. The UK’s premier mainstream saxophonist with a full and muscular style, Ray has performed for the likes of HM The Queen (twice) and Sir Paul McCartney. Influenced by the tenor greats of the swing-era Enrico’s beautiful sound and smooth approach have made him a firm favourite around Europe. Described as a ‘celebration of swing’, Ray and Enric will play music from their album ‘With All Due Respect’, saluting sax heroes such as Coleman Hawkins, Illinois Jacquet and Charlie Ventura. An absolute delight.
“…the stylish, sharp-suited Gelato …is a larger than life character.” The Times; “Peidro solos…time-feel and tone are sublime” The Jazz Word
