Sean Fyfe
Originally from Canada, pianist Sean Fyfe cites modern jazz & hard bop standard-bearers Cedar Walton, Wynton Kelly and Bill Evans as his primary inspirations. With a graduate degree from the highly regarded Manhattan School of Music, Sean appeared at various notable venues in both Canada and the US before establishing himself here in London, where he’s become of the busiest pianists on the scene. Working with musicians including saxophonists Dave O’Higgins and Alec Garnett, Sean’s first album as leader, ‘Late Night’ was released last year. For this 606 show, Sean will play a mix of original compositions and arrangements of well-known standard jazz repertoire, joined by his Trio, bassist Luke Fowler and drummer Matt Fishwick.
