Simon Lasky
“....a paean to well-constructed, uncluttered composition and honest-to-goodness musical texture. There are no rough edges to this sound.”

Winner of the 2018 British Composer Award for ‘Jazz Composition for Small Ensemble' and signed to highly-regarded label 33Jazz, Simon Lasky juggles a busy career as a composer, pianist, NPR jazz host and recording artist on both sides of the Atlantic. Now resident in Florida USA, this is Simon's first performance at the Club since 2017 and he's put together an incredible band for this very special occasion: Shanti Jayasinha-trumpet; Sam Mayne-alto sax; Paul Booth-tenor sax, Ant Law-guitar, Pete Billington-bass, Sophie Alloway-drums & special guest, Noemi Nuti-vocals. They will be performing new horn arrangements of compositions from Simon's most recent album "About the Moment", as well as premieres of brand new Septet compositions and arrangements of well-known material.
