Sunday Lunch: Louise Parker
Citing Nina Simone and Billie Holiday as major influences this lovely, relaxed, swinging mainstream jazz singer includes work alongside some of the UK’s most established jazz musicians, including the likes of Dave Newton, Alan Barnes and Humphrey Lyttelton, with whom she also recorded as well as being asked to perform at his Memorial concert at the Hammersmith Apollo. The gig this afternoon will include a selection of carefully chosen jazz standards alongside “some reggae, Latin and groove”. Also featuring pianist Sean Fyfe.
