The Zealots (Album Launch)
The Zealots are a collective of Soul enthusiasts from south London. Their sound has been described as having “mixed the musicianship of Stevie Wonder, the funk/rock sound of Red Hot Chili Peppers and the positivity and rhythm of Jamiroquai.” (godisinthetvzine blog). Throw in a little bit of Steely Dan and you’re there. They are regulars on the London music scene and have, in the last three years, been honing their sound in their own purpose-built studio. Their members - Aylwin Steele-lead vocals/guitar, Charlie Morton-guitar/vocals, Jake Edwards-Wood-keys/vocals, Louis Munro-bass/vocals & Jermaine Whyte-drums/vocals - have played with everyone from Lalah Hathaway to Tom Jones, Boy George to Rita Ora. After success playing around the UK and Europe, they’re releasing their new album of music, "Songs From The Tape Shed" into the airwaves, which we are celebrating tonight at this show. Beautifully arranged material, in-the-pocket playing and great feel-we suggest you give this band a listen.
