Victoria Newton & Friends ft. Paul Booth
Victoria Newton is an Australian jazz singer who continues to delight audiences with her effervescence, energetic performances and musicality. She lived in the UK for many years where she became known as one of the most exciting and dynamic singers on the London jazz scene and was a regular here at the Club. During that time she appeared at many venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Café, the London International Jazz Festival, Ingolstadt Jazz Festival, Queille in France and Alexis Jazz Club in Kuala Lumpur. Victoria was also, for many years, the lead singer with the 606 Club’s “house” Brazilian band Samara, as well as working with UK saxophonist Paul Booth’s various ensembles, Oxala and Patchwork Project. Tonight, joined by Paul & her band, Victoria will bring the classic sounds of Tom Jobim, Sergio Mendez and Gilberto Gil, along with hip remixes, jazz favourites and a few originals as well. Expect “soaring vocals, glorious grooves and electrifying energy… luscious summer vibes”!
