Viviana Zarbo Quintet ft. Laurent Medelgi
Italian-born, a former London resident but now based in China, singer/actress Viviana Zarbo has played regularly at some of London's most established music venues, including Pizza Express Soho, Ronnie Scott’s and Crazy Coqs. After graduating from the American Musical Theatre Academy of London in 2014, Viviana developed an innovative repertoire from the Great American Songbook, re-interpreting the songs by drawing inspiration from great jazz singers such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day and Sarah Vaughan as well as influences from actresses/singers such as Julie London, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland. Her debut album "Take Away" on the prestigious jazz record label 33Jazz Records further showcased her sumptuous voice and winning delivery. This Sunday, for what is now only an occasional London gig, she’ll be joined by her quintet featuring a very special guest from France, guitarist Laurent Medelgi, who has performed internationally at venues including The Blue Note, Birdland & Smalls in New York and even lately in China at Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai. A classy and elegant performer, her gigs are always swinging and fun.
